Case Study: Autism Matters

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Autism Matters is an established “not for profit”charitable incorporated organisation (CIO), based in the North East of England, offering a range of support and services for Autistic adults designed by Autistic adults.

Spearhead Interactive were commissioned to design, create and deliver a diagnostic tool for autistic adults that will be accepted as evidence-based and used as part of the diagnostic process.

Key Features:

Unique Virtual World

In partnership and consultation with Autism Matters, we have transformed the required user flow and solution elements into an immersive, playful and visually rich virtual world.

Multiple areas of the world are interactive above and beyond the flow of the experience narrative to give the user more to do and explore within the Finding Me environment.

LOGIN / BOOK APPOINTMENT AREA

Users begin their experience by logging into the solution using the terminal. They will also return to this area following their assessment to book an appointment with a clinician, as necessary.

VERBAL ACTIVITY SCREEN

Acting as a triage area, the verbal activity screen asks and displays questions for the user to answer by pressing corresponding buttons.

The solution will ultimately use artifical intelligence to assess the user and provide the user with next steps based on their responses.

MY SAFESPACE

Whilst waiting for their appointment, users will have access to a personal area; with colours, lighting and materials configured to a bespoke specification based on their answers to their assessment questions.

MEETING AREA

The user will be able to securely meet in-world with a clinician for a more accurate assessment in a comfortable and welcoming part of the island.

SCENARIOS

Following their appointment with a clinicial, users will have access to various interactive scenarios to experience, practice and master, selected based on the individual needs of the user.
